The Vision Behind Greenwich & Delancey

The Vision Behind Greenwich & Delancey

David Teyf, chef and restaurateur, is a visionary force in Eastern European cuisine, known for redefining and elevating culinary traditions on a global stage. He leads Greenwich & Delancey in Manhattan and Greenwich, Connecticut, Madison & Park Hospitality Group, and LOX at the Jewish Museum and Museum of Jewish Heritage. Teyf is also the Executive Chef at 2nd Floor Bar & Essen, the celebrated cocktail lounge above the iconic 2nd Avenue Deli.

Drawing inspiration from his extensive travels, Teyf has dedicated his career to preserving and modernizing Eastern European flavors, from revitalizing traditional recipes to curating immersive dining experiences. Beyond his culinary empire, he remains committed to service, personally delivering Shabbat dinners to Holocaust survivors each week—a tradition he began during the COVID-19 pandemic.

With a deep respect for history and an eye toward the future, Teyf’s influence extends far beyond the kitchen, shaping the way cuisine is experienced around the world.
